Bhuna Gosht is a popular dish in South Asian cuisine, known for its rich, spicy flavor. It involves slow-cooking meat with a blend of aromatic spices until the meat is tender and infused with the flavors of the spices. This recipe provides a step-by-step guide to making delicious Bhuna Gosht at home.


 Ingredients:

- 500 grams of meat (mutton or beef), cut into cubes

- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil

- 2 onions, finely chopped

- 2 tomatoes, chopped

- 2 teaspoons ginger-garlic paste

- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

- 1 teaspoon coriander powder

- 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust according to spice preference)

- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder

- Salt to taste

- Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing

- Green chilies for garnishing (optional)

 Method

1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan or pressure cooker over medium heat.

2. Add the cumin seeds and let them splutter.

3. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

4. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another 2-3 minutes until the raw aroma disappears.

5. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.

6. Now, add the coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt to taste. Mix well and cook for a few minutes until the oil separates from the masala.

7. Add the cubed meat to the masala mixture and stir well to coat the meat evenly with the spices.

8. If using a pressure cooker, add a little water (about 

1/4 cup) to create some steam. Close the lid and cook the meat until it is tender (about 20-25 minutes or as per your cooker's instructions). If using a regular pan, cover and cook the meat on low heat until tender, stirring occasionally and adding water if necessary.

9. Once the meat is cooked and tender, sprinkle garam masala powder over it and mix well.

10. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and green chilies (if using).

11. Serve hot Bhuna Gosht with rice, naan, or roti. Enjoy the delicious and spicy meat curry!
